Nearby Food and Groceries at KCP’s Ikebukuro Dorm by KCP Spring 2023 student Frank

The Ikebukuro dormitory for KCP students is only 30 minutes from the school–a real find, in the world of the famous Tokyo commute. Ikebukuro, a thriving entertainment and commercial district, is also one of the busiest commuter hubs, where over more than a million people pass through every single day.

Check out KCP Spring 2023 student Frank Saponare as he shares his insights on the nearby places where to grab a bite to eat as well as where to get some groceries around the KCP’s Ikebukuro Dorm. Thanks, Frank!

To all students who will be spending the Spring semester with KCP living in the Ikebukuro dorms, then you’re in luck. The Ikebukuro dorm is located in a peaceful and quiet suburban area of Tokyo. One that is ideal for those who like to go on walks as you’ll be able to easily explore and see the beautiful city architecture that is unique to Tokyo.

KCP students will also find the Ikebukuro dorms to be a great location to stay at when it comes to food as well. This is due to the dorms being located in close proximity to many great local restaurants and cafes. One location in particular that would be worth checking out is the Tsumugu Cafe, a cafe that offers vegan and vegetarian options for patrons. Located just right around the corner from the dorm, it’s a nice spot to pull up a seat and study at.

However, if you find yourself needing to buy food with more longevity to it, the area that the Ikebukuro dorms are located in will have you covered as well. As there are three locations that will be able to help you out with getting things to fill your fridge with. Those places being, the 7/11, FamilyMart and Comidi-IIDA, all of which are all just a 5 minute walk away from your dorm.

Not only will you be able to purchase food from these locations, but all three provide products that will help you adjust to day to day living in Ikebukuro. Products like toiletries, towels and any needed school supplies (pens, notebooks, etc.) can be purchased at all of the stores mentioned above. Along with both conbinis having ATMs stationed inside of them so you’ll be able to withdraw money for yourself whenever it is needed.

Day or Night, a quick run to 7/11 will have you covered for what you need.
