Veena from 2013

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

Speech contest because it showed the range of talents among the students.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The program in itself is very immersive and intense. There was nothing less productive.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Textbooks, drill practice, sometimes pair work.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

This program is very intense and will take up a lot of your time studying. This is for serious students only, but it is very effective for those who want to learn Japanese seriously and efficiently. It is definitely one of the greatest programs I know.

Testimonials

I found tests to be a good indicator of where I was at over homework. The homework only covered one topic usually, but tests would cover a wider variety of them mixed around. I’ve never studied Japanese from a textbook in this style, so the textbooks have been extremely helpful in visualizing Japanese grammar points.
