My class was very interactive and the teachers had us communicating all the time. Working with classmates was enjoyable.
Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
I enjoyed the over night trip with all the US program students. The KCP did an amazing job with the planning and execution of the entire trip. I felt safe, saw things I never thought I would, and interacted with staff in a relaxed environment.
What were your goals in attending the KCP program?
Explore the Japanese language and challenge myself with such an intensive program.
What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?
The most interesting aspect of this program is how intensive everything is and how much assistance you receive with all of the staff. I have never had so much care from a staff ever. They were wonderful people and one of the reasons I would return to the program and recommend it to others.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?
I only participated in the excursions. It was a great experience to explore Tokyo with my fellow classmates.
Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?
KCP is a wonderful place to learn Japanese for serious learnings. I came into the program not knowing any Japanese and left knowing the basics. It comes in handy knowing the basics before coming to KCP but know that if you don't it is doable, but you have to put in the work. The sensei I worked with the most is Kudo Sensei and I only speak highly of her because of her patients and enthusiasm of teacher. She made me feel confident when I didn't believe in myself. She is a wonderful instructor and it is easy to say one of my favourite teachers throughout all my years of learning. Tanaka San, Ryuhe San and Haruka San are wonderful staff that deserve the highest of praises. They were so helpful and always were ready to answer questions. I loved every bit of KCP even though it was the biggest challenge of my life.
