The most productive and interesting aspects of the program is classes were 100% in Japanese!

Michael from Summer Short 2018

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The tea ceremony and trip to the monastery for meditation were a good insight into Japanese culture. I also particularly enjoyed the trip to NHN to learn about Japanese work culture. This trip had particular value because it is something that would have been very difficult to arrange myself.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Paired work and constant interaction with the teacher. Knowing that you could be asked a question at any time meant that you constantly had to stay alert and be ready to answer.

Testimonials

I selected this program because I saw a favorable review for it in my Japanese club’s newsletter, and I had been looking for a study abroad in Tokyo. I also liked how inexpensive the program was and how the offered dormitories, which few other programs did.
