This is a wonderful program that I would highly recommend!

Greta from Summer Short 2018

Why did you select this program?

It fit with the date in August when I had to be back in school, at eight weeks it was longer than most other summer programs I looked at, it seemed to be oriented towards intense language study (as opposed to programs that focused more on culture or sight seeing and stuff), and it was also priced much more reasonably than other programs.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

I would say that if your goal in coming to Japan is to learn Japanese (as opposed to just sight seeing) this is a good program. The teachers and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and you will learn a lot. We did go on some fun excursions though too! After searching for language programs in Japan, this seemed to be both one of the cheapest, longest, and most language focused programs I could find, and I was not disappointed! This is a wonderful program that I would highly recommend!

Testimonials

I’d say that the two weeks we got as Summer Short Term students before starting the actual Summer Term with the international students helped a lot. It prepared me for the intensity and structure of the program. I’d say the structure of the program and every day classes were very helpful in advancing my Japanese skills. Switching from some review and practice with my peers, to dictation, to kanji, etc, was engaging. I just think the intensity and structure of the program was ideal, at least for me.
